Tata Motors gears up to revive 'Nano'

"We are doing 2,000-2,500 units per month. It is below expectation and there is 'some product intervention (on Nano)' which is going to happen," Tata Motors sales head (south & east) Ashesh Dhar said.

He denied that Nano was a failure and said there is demand and hoped to dominate that segment.

He denied to elaborate on what sort of product intervention the company was looking at and the timeframe by when the same would take place.

Dhar, however, indicated that company will continue to leverage on the brand.

The automaker had invested around Rs 4,000 crore on this product which is produced in Sanand, Gujarat. Launched in 2009, it was a dream project for Ratan Tata to build a car for the masses.
