'Ronaldo voted Europe's top footballer'

The results of the survey, carried out by Uruguay's El Pais daily and released Tuesday, showed 89 of the 144 reporters queried named the Real Madrid forward as the region's top player, reports news agency.

German goalie Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) and Argentina's Lionel Messi (Barcelona) came in distant second and third places, with 19 and 16 votes, respectively.

Ronaldo "was again the grand star (of Real Madrid), winning the coveted Champions League title for the tenth time," the daily said.

Real Madrid also lead the Spanish League's 2014-2015 season with a total of 25 goals, the daily added. In other categories, the title of Europe's best coach went to Argentina's Diego Simeone, who coached Atletico Madrid to victory in the Spanish 2013-2014 season and the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Dhoni led by example not by rhetoric: Rahul Dravid

"He was a captain I enjoyed playing under," Dravid said.

"One of the things I liked about MS was, what you saw was what you got. Very uncomplicated, always led by example. One of the things I really liked about playing under MS was that he never asked you to do anything that he himself didn't do," he explained.

Dhoni retired from Test cricket at the end of the third Test against Australia, which ended in a draw yesterday. The retirement was a bolt from the blue given that Dhoni had dropped no hint of such a big decision leading up to the match.

Dravid said Dhoni earned the respect of his teammates by setting an example with his own performance.

"The reality was he was having to transition a senior group of players and build a younger group who were coming through," Dravid said.

"In a sense he was not the most communicative of captains, but he tried to earn your respect by walking the talk. He never took a backward step, and led more by example than by rhetoric or by words. More by actions," he added.

Dravid said Dhoni deserves credit for inspiring a whole generation of small-town cricketers.

Mixed response to Dhoni's retirement from test cricket in Jharkhand

"It is a right decision, but coming at the wrong time. He should have resigned when the team was doing well in Test cricket or should have waited, taking the BCCI into confidence, for another series before bowing out with a series win," opined Rakesh Kumar, who played with Dhoni in Ranchi Cricket League.

Daval Sahay, who gave several sportspersons employment opportunities in the Central Coalfields Limited when he was the Director (Personnel), however, said Dhoni should have taken the ultimate decision only after the World Cup.

Dhoni was one of the players in the CCL team that played Sishmahal Cricket tournaments and other tourneys.

"His decision is neither right nor having come at the right time or right place," claimed Sahay, whom Dhoni acknowledges as one of the three coaches who mentored his career during Dhoni’s formative years.

Announcement of Dhoni's retirement after the wicketkeeper-batsman had played in 90 Test matches, 60 of them as captain, was made immediately after India lost the current Test series to Australia following a drawn third Test here.

"One of India's greatest Test Captains under whose leadership India became the No. 1 team in the Test Rankings MS Dhoni, has decided to retire from Test Cricket citing the strain of playing all formats of Cricket," the BCCI said in a statement.

Xiaomi's market value hits USD 45 billion: Founder

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi's market value is estimated to have reached USD 45 billion after it completed the latest round of fundraising last week, company's founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Lei Jun said.

Last week was the fifth round of fundraising by the firm and raised USD 1.1 billion, Lei said in an entry posted on microblogging site Sina Weibo.

According to its developer Jamie Brandt from the Alberta-based firm Stony Plain, the notification banner will not vanish until it has been acknowledged.

"That means you will not miss any important warnings," he added.

The app users can also specify which area to scan for emergency alerts so that they would only receive local-specific news. According to Brandt, E-lerter makes sense as people have become more reliant on their mobile devices.

3rd Test: Kohli falls after tea, India four-down against Australia

Kohli struck another gritty half-century to remain unbeaten on 54 off 98 balls with seven fours and added 85 runs for the fourth wicket with Rahane (33 batting) after India were left struggling at 19 for three losing Shikhar Dhawan (0), Murali Vijay (11) and KL Rahul (1).

Leading 2-0, Australia need only draw the Melbourne match to wrap up the four-match series and India face a Herculean task to keep the contest alive for the final test in Sydney next week.

Google's Gmail blocked in China

Large numbers of Gmail web addresses were cut off in China on Friday, said GreatFire.org, a China-based freedom of speech advocacy group. Users said the service was still down on Monday.
             
"I think the government is just trying to further eliminate Google's presence in China and even weaken its market overseas," said a member of GreatFire.org, who uses a pseudonym.

"Imagine if Gmail users might not get through to Chinese clients. Many people outside China might be forced to switch away from Gmail."
             
Google's own Transparency Report, which shows real-time traffic to Google services, displayed a sharp drop-off in traffic to Gmail from China on Friday.

Facebook apologises for grief caused by 'Year in Review' posts

The automated feature brings to the front of a member's timeline a series of images and posts from 2014, just to show how brilliant a twelve-month period it's been but makes no allowances for those unfortunate posts that bring back the most painful and haunting memories possible.
  
The feature coupled with a tag line saying "it has been a great year" brought grief to a web designer expert who named the app as "inadvertent algorithmic cruelty" as it forced him to relive the pain of his young daughter's tragic death.
  
"This is not a deliberate assault. This inadvertent algorithmic cruelty is the result of code that works in the overwhelming majority of cases, reminding people of the awesomeness of their years, showing them selfies at a party or whale spouts from sailing boats or the marina outside their vacation house," Eric Meyer wrote in an article titled "Inadvertent Algorithmic Cruelty," Eric Meyer in an article titled "Inadvertent Algorithmic Cruelty."

Airtel drops plans to charge extra for VoIP calls

"In view of the news reports that a consultation paper will be issued shortly by TRAI on issues relating to services offered by OTT (over the top content) players including VoIP, we have decided not to implement our proposed launch of VoIP packs," Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
   
The operator had earlier decided to charge VoIP calls on pay as you go basis, at standard data rates of 4 paise per 10 KB on 3G network and 10 paise per 10 KB on 2G network.
  
Besides, it had also announced special VoIP packs.
   
"We have no doubt that as a result of the consultation process a balanced  outcome would emerge that would not only protect the interests of all stakeholders and viability of this important sector but would also encourage much needed investments in spectrum and roll out of data networks to fulfil the objective of digital India," Airtel said.

Twitter goes down for some Android users

There have been several complaints from users of logging out of their Twitter accounts from Android apps and some third part accounts like TweetDeck. Users who tried to log into Twitter were met with an error message and were not be able to get access to their account, GeekWire reported.

TweetDeck users reported that all their tweets show as 365 days old. On social networking site Reddit, several users wrote they could not log in and some thought that their account had been hacked.

Only Apple iOS devices were working fine for logging into Twitter. According to Twitter, "some users are currently having trouble signing in to twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve this".

In response, Twitter shows you the analytics for that specific tweet. The total impressions displays the number of times people saw your tweet, while the total engagements reveals the number of people who actually retweeted or favorited your tweet.

Cyber crooks scouting for vulnerabilities in Apple Pay: Report

Even though no actual attacks on Apple Pay have been reported yet, Trend Micro's 'Security Prediction for 2015 and Beyond' warned that cyber criminals will increase attacks on mobile payment systems.
  
"It's safe to assume that as early as now, the bad guys are already looking for vulnerabilities to exploit in Apple Pay. They will continue to scrutinise NFC (Near Field Communications) as well," Trend Micro said.
  
Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple Inc. It lets certain Apple mobile devices make payments at retail and online checkout.

Resuming the day on 108 for one in response to the hosts' first innings score of 530, India lost their overnight batsmen early but Kohli (169), registering his third ton in this series, and Rahane (147) made sure that their stand is the highest for India in Australia at the MCG for any wicket.

A 'forced log out' for some Android users

The users who tried to logging into Twitter received an error message saying 'Some users are currently having trouble signing in to twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve this.  Moreover, the computer application, TweetDeck, was displaying tweets which were a year old.

TweetDeck users reported that all their tweets show as 365 days old. On social networking site Reddit, several users wrote that they could not log in and some thought that their account had been hacked. Only Apple iOS devices were working fine for logging into Twitter.

Sony's PlayStation back online after Christmas hack

An allegedly coordinated Christmas day hack brought down the gaming consoles, both hot gifts for the holiday season, although Xbox has been working at near full capacity since Friday.
  
"PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay," Catherine Jensen, vice president of consumer experience for Sony's California-based US division, said in a blog post late yesterday.
  
"PlayStation Network is back online," she added.
  
Meanwhile all except three of Xbox's applications have been up and running since Friday.
  
Game users took to Twitter to celebrate PlayStation's return.
  
"Was just about to pack this ps4 up and trade it towards an xboxone. Just in time." Twitter user @xander63090 posted.
     
Hacker group Lizard Squad took credit for the disruption and has targeted Sony in the past.

Facebook sorry after app stirred up sad memories

The social working site compiled a "Year in Review" video for every user, allowing them to reminisce over the highlights of the past year as calculated by Facebook's algorithm.

While some people's highlights included a wedding or a trip, others contained more devastating highlights like the death of a loved one, Jezebel reported.

Writer and web design consultant Eric Meyer wrote a poignant response to the "Year in Review" app after viewing the picture of his daughter, who died of brain cancer earlier this year, in his news feed.

iPhone to help you track your tweets

"You need to sign in to the Twitter analytics page with your account so that the company can start collecting the mobile analytics data," said Ian Chan, a software engineering manager at Twitter.

At the bottom of the tweet, you will see a link that says 'View Analytics Details'.

Now tap that link. In response, Twitter shows you the analytics for that specific tweet.

The total impressions displays the number of times people saw your tweet, while the total engagements reveals the number of people who actually retweeted or favorited your tweet.

Honda set for record car sales in India this year

"2014 was a very successful year for Honda as it continued its growth journey for the third consecutive year," Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Jnaneswar Sen said in a statement.

During the January-November period, the company sold 1.65 lakh units, up 61.8 percent, from 1.02 lakh units in the same period of previous year. Sen said Honda is set to end 2014 with a record sale of 1.8 lakh units.
   
In line with business expansion, the company made strong progress in expanding its dealership network during the year and crossed the milestone of 200 dealers in the country in November 2014.

"The company plans to rope in another 100 dealers by the end of the next fiscal and take the total tally to 300 facilities by March 2016," Sen said. Elaborating on the launches during the year, he said that new generation City, which was launched in January, has gone on to sell more than 71,000 units till November 2014.

Government to look into Airtel's plan to charge for internet calls

"We will look into it. Government will come back with structured response," Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on the sidelines of 'Good Governance Day' event organised by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology.
  
He was responding to media questions on Airtel's plan to charge for VoIP calls at standard rate of 4 paise per 10 KB on 3G network and 10paise per 10 KB on 2G network.
   
Airtel customers will now have to pay extra for making calls on Skype, Viber or other apps.
  
"All internet/data packs or plans (through which customer can avail discounted rate) shall only be valid for internet browsing and will exclude VoIP (both incoming/ outgoing). VoIP over data connectivity would be charged at standard data rates of 4p/10 KB (3G service) and 10p/10 KB (2G service)," Airtel said on its website.
   
Based on standard rates, usage of each GB of data for VoIP on 3G network will cost about Rs 4,000 and while the same on 2G netwrok will cost about Rs 10,000.

Facebook must face lawsuit for scanning of users' messages, says US Judge

U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton in Oakland, California, on Tuesday dismissed some state-law claims against the social media company but largely denied Facebook's bid to dismiss the lawsuit.
             
Facebook had argued that the alleged scanning of its users' messages was covered by an exception under the federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act for interceptions by service providers occurring in the ordinary course of business.
             
But Hamilton said Facebook had "not offered a sufficient explanation of how the challenged practice falls within the ordinary course of its business."
             
Neither Facebook nor a lawyer for the plaintiffs responded to a request for comment Wednesday.
             
The lawsuit, filed in 2013, alleged that Facebook scanned the content of private messages sent between users for links to websites and would then count any links in a tally of "likes" of the pages.
             
Those "likes" were then used to compile user profiles, which were then used for delivering targeted advertising to its users, the lawsuit said.

Apple likely to launch new devices in 2015: Report

As per reports, the company is planning to unveil new iPhone and iPad. The next Apple iPad, likely to be named iPad Pro or iPad Plus, features the 12.2-inch display with next generation A9 processor, according to a Japanese magazine.

Mac Fan, has published details of the rumoured 12.2-inch iPad Air Plus including its internal hardware and expected launch date.

The magazine reports that the tablet will be 305.31 x 220.8 x 7mm in size and come powered by a next-generation A9 processor. The report also says that the device sports four built in speakers for better sound quality.

Recently, Apple launched the thinnest model of iPad, Air 2 and the new iPad mini 3.

The iPad Air 2 is just 6.1 millimetre thin which is 18 percent less than the previous version and weighs only 437 grams. Customers will have the option to buy from six models of iPad Air 2, priced in the range of Rs 35,900 to Rs 59,900.

Delhi High Court lifts ban on sale of OnePlus smartphones

A bench headed by Justice Pradeep Nandrajog while setting aside the single judge's order restraining Chinese phonemaker Shenzhen OnePlus Technology Co Ltd from selling its mobiles on the plea of Micromax, said that it was not a case for grant of an ad-interim injunction as "prima-facie neither (company) competes nor eats into the territory of the other".
  
It directed Shenzhen and US-based software firm Cyanogen, which in a lighter vein was referred to as a "villain" in the instant case by the bench, to file their replies on Micromax' application for interim stay, saying the parties needed to be given an opportunity to file their pleadings.
  
The bench observed it was not proper of the single judge to finally decide the application without giving the parties time to file their pleadings.

Audi launched the A3 Sedan with an eye on the Indian luxury car market. The diesel A3 is available in four variants, namely, Attraction at Rs. 22.95 lakh, Premium at Rs. 25.95 lakh, Premium + at Rs. 29.95 lakh and the top-end Technology Pack at Rs. 32.66 lakh. All prices are indicative of ex-showroom Delhi.

The petrol fueled Audi A3 sedan is available only in a single Premium + variant that is priced at Rs. 28.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The petrol Audi A3 sedan is powered by a 1.8 litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine generating 182.5PS of power @ 5,100 rpm and 6,200 rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1,250 rpm and 5,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed double clutch automatic gearbox.

The 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine in the A3 develops 144PS of power between 3,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm along with peak torque of 320Nm between 1,750 rpm and 3,000 rpm. The diesel engine is mated to a six-speed double clutch gearbox.

Datsun Go+ all set to hit Indian market on 15th January next year

The compact MPV segment, which is a large five-seater hatchback with a flexible third row, is best suited for children.  The Go+ is based on the Go hatch.

Go+  will be powered by the 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol motor, with a slightly tweaked ECU churning out an adequate 68PS and 104Nm.

Despite the increased weight, which is about 20kg, the torquey motor helps the Go+ take off with some excitement. The Go+ is likely to be priced at Rs 4.1 lakh approximately.

Vishwanath temple bomb on information disclosure

प्रधान मंत्री की काशी यात्रा पर दो ऐसी घटनाएं हुईं जिसे लेकर सुरक्षा व्यवस्था पर सवाल उठ खड़े हुए हैं। पहली घटना बाबतपुर एयरपोर्ट पर सुबह पार्किंग एरिया में गोली चलने की तब हुई जब मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव पीएम के विमान का इंतजार कर रहे थे।

गोली एक गनर की लापरवाही से चली थी। दूसरी ओर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी जब डीरेका में रेल इंजन का लोकार्पण करने के बाद लोगों को संबोधित कर रहे थे, केंद्रीय खुफिया एजेंसी आइबी ने एक ऐसी सूचना दी जिससे एसपीजी समेत नगर में मौजूद सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के हाथ-पांव फूल गए। खुफिया एजेंसियों को सूचना मिली कि किसी ने काशी विश्वनाथ मंदिर परिसर में टाइम बम लगा दिया है। हालांकि खोजबीन में कुछ नहीं मिला। हुआ यूं कि प्रधानमंत्री की सुरक्षा के मद्देनजर खुफिया टीम ने अपने मुखबिरों को कैंट रेलवे स्टेशन पर भी लगा रखा था। एक मुखबिर के पास खड़े दो युवक आपस में बातचीत कर रहे थे कि विश्वनाथ मंदिर में बम लगा दिया गया है। इतना सुनते ही मुखबिर ने खुफिया अधिकारियों को सूचना दी। बम की बात सामने आते ही खुफिया तंत्र सक्रिय हो गया। एसएसपी और जिलाधिकारी को सूचना दी गई। प्रधानमंत्री की डीरेका में मौजूदगी के बीच बम की सूचना पर पुलिस महकमे में हड़कंप मच गया।

एसएसपी के आदेश पर एसपी प्रोटोकाल डीपीएन पांडेय बाबा दरबार परिसर में पहुंच गए। उधर प्रधानमंत्री की सुरक्षा के लिए डीरेका में मौजूद बम डिस्पोजल दस्ता प्रभारी, हरिश्चंद्र तिवारी तत्काल अपनी टीम के साथ मंदिर पहुंच गए।

विश्वनाथ मंदिर परिक्षेत्र में हाई अलर्ट घोषित करने व रेड जोन से सभी श्रद्धालुओं को बाहर निकालने के बाद गर्भगृह की जांच की गई। गर्भगृह के बाद मंदिर क्षेत्र का एक-एक कोना खंगाला गया। पानी टंकी, कैश बाक्स से लेकर श्रृंगार कक्ष तक की गहन जांच की गई।

अन्न क्षेत्र, अन्नपूर्णा मंदिर में भी सुरक्षाकर्मियों ने कोना-कोना छान मारा। रेड जोन का चप्पा-चप्पा तलाशने के बाद यलो जोन में सुरक्षाकर्मियों ने उन सभी दुकानदारों के यहां तलाशी कराई, जिनके यहां लॉकर की सुविधा है। दुकानदारों को आगाह किया गया कि बिना सामान की जांच किए उसे लॉकर में न रखें। साढ़े तीन बजे से लेकर देर शाम सात बजे तक तलाशी अभियान के बाद जब कुछ नहीं मिला तक सुरक्षाकर्मियों ने राहत की सांस ली। हालांकि एहतियात के तौर पर रेड जोन के प्रवेश द्वार पर जवानों की संख्या बढ़ा दी गई है। यलो जोन में कोबरा कमांडो गश्त करने के साथ ही गलियों में मौजूद वाहनों की जांच करते रहे। सात बजे जब सुरक्षा एजेंसियों ने मंदिर परिक्षेत्र को सुरक्षित घोषित किया तब जाकर पुलिस प्रशासनिक महकमे ने राहत की सांस ली।

You know, Christmas is the celebration of the triumph of the sun

भले ही क्रिसमस भारत का मूल त्योहार नहीं है, फिर भी यह त्योहार भारतीय संस्कृति के साथ पूरी तरह घुल मिल गया। हमेशा से ही यह पर्व यहां के लोगों में खुशियों के साथ सांप्रदायिक सौहार्द की मिसाल कायम करता रहा है।

दरअसल 16 दिसंबर के बाद दिन बड़े होने लगते हैं और 25 दिसंबर को रात-दिन बराबर। इसीलिए प्राचीन रोम में 25 दिसंबर को 'सूरज की विजयÓ का दिन मनाया जाता था। इसके चलते कुछ समय बाद इस पर्व को 'स्टेट रिलीजनÓ घोषित कर 'क्राइस्ट द सनÓ का रूप प्रदान कर दिया गया। तभी से क्रिसमस को प्रभु यीशु के जन्मदिन के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

बाइबल के मुताबिक ईश्वर ने अपने भक्त याशायाह के माध्यम से 800 ईसा पूर्व ही भविष्यवाणी कर दी थी कि दुनिया में एक राजकुमार किसी पवित्र कुमारी की कोख से जन्म लेगा। उसका नाम इमेनुएल (ईश्वर हमारे साथ) रखा जाएगा। ऐसा ही हुआ भी। यीशु के जन्म की सबसे पहली खबर संसार के उन सबसे निर्धन, गरीब और भोले-भाले लोगों को मिली, जो दिनभर की कड़ी मेहनत एवं परिश्रम से अपनी भेड़ों को चराने के बाद सर्दियों की रात में खुले आसमान के नीचे उनकी रखवाली कर रहे थे। यीशु एक गरीब की गोशाला में घास पर जन्मे।

खिचरी स्वाद अरुसि रही रसना, दृग अरुझो पिय रूप गौर तन।

दुहुं विधि आतुर रसिक-पुरंदर, सजनी समुझि निरखि प्रमुदित मन।।

गान सुनत श्रवननि नव-नव रुचि, परस होत रोमांचित अंगन।

शीत ऋतु में साधक अपने आराध्य राधाबल्लभ लाल को पंचमेवा युक्त खिचड़ी प्रसाद परोसकर कुछ इन पंक्तियों का गायन करते हैं, तो मंदिर में भक्ति और आस्था का एहसास ही निराला दिखने लगता है। भोर होते ही मंगला आरती के दौरान औलाई वेश में दर्शन देते ठाकुरजी को देख खुद ही ठंड का एहसास होने लगता है, तो ठाकुरजी को गर्म खिचड़ी उसमें तैरता घी और पंचमेवा का प्रसाद गर्माहट देने के लिए परोसा जाता है।

हेमंत ऋतु में खिचड़ी उत्सव के आयोजन की परंपरा राधाबल्लभीय संप्रदाय में काफी प्राचीन है। 18वीं शताब्दी में संत-भक्तों द्वारा रचित साहित्य से यहां की इस परंपरा के प्राचीन संदर्भ उद्घाटित होते देखे जा सकते हैं। कालांतर में इस मनोरथ को केंद्र में रखकर अलग-अलग रचनाकारों ने विपुल साहित्य रचा, जिसकी पाण्डुलिपियां न केवल ब्रजमंडल बल्कि भारत के हस्तलिखित ग्रंथागारों में भी मिलती हैं।

मंदिर सेवायत हित राधेशलाल गोस्वामी एवं मोहित मराल गोस्वामी ने बताया कि ठा. राधाबल्लभ मंदिर में पौष मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की दौज से माघ मास की एकदशी प्रभात तक ठाकुरजी को नित्य सुबह खिचड़ी प्रसाद लगाया जाएगा। जो 21 जनवरी तक चलेगा। खिचड़ी महोत्सव ठाकुरजी का प्राचीनतम एवं प्रिय उत्सव है।

खिचड़ी के साथ इनका भी लगता प्रसाद- ठाकुरजी को परोसे जाने वाली खिचड़ी में दाल-चावल के अनुपात का घी, काजू, बाजाम, जायफल, जावित्री, केसर, चिरौंजी समेत पंचमेवा और खीरसा की कुलिया, श्रीखंड, अचार, ग्वार की फरी, मुरब्बा, सेम का अचार, आलू की सब्जी, राई आलू भी शामिल है। इसमें हींग, लालमिर्च का प्रयोग नहीं होता।

प्रेम और करुणा का संदेश देने को प्रभु यीशु का जन्म हो रहा था। चर्चो में भक्त मेरा प्रभु जन्मा, प्यारा प्रभु जन्मा, आया है प्रभु, मुक्ति ले साथ आया है भजनों से वातावरण में भक्ति का रस घोल रहे थे। रात्रि 12 बजे ही चर्चो में घंटे बजने लगे। ईसाई प्रभु के जन्म की खुशी में सराबोर हो गए। एक-दूसरे को केक खिलाकर प्रभु के जन्म की बधाई देने लगे। गुरुवार को क्रिसमस पर सुबह प्रार्थनाएं हुई। सेंट्रल मैथोडिस्ट चर्च, बाढ़पुरा के निकट रात्रि दस बजे से ही लोग एकत्रित होने लगे। रात्रि 11 बजे भजन-कीर्तन शुरू हुए। रात्रि 12 बजे जैसे ही घड़ी की तीनों सुई एक हुईं तो चर्च में घंटे बजने लगे। जिंगल बैल भी बज उठी। प्रार्थना शुरू हो गई। लोग एक-दूसरे को केक खिलाकर बधाई देने लगे और यह दौर देर रात्रि तक चलता रहा। गुरुवार को भी चर्च और घर खुशियों में सराबोर रहे।

वृंदावन में गुरुवार रात्रि करीब 11 बजे क्रिश्चियन परिवार सीएफसी चौराहा के समीप स्थित चर्च के बाहर एकत्रित हुए। कैंप फायर और कैरोल सिंगिंग हुई। ठीक बारह बजे ईसा मसीह अवतरित हुए और घंटा-घडिय़ाल बजने लगे। पादरी अरून मोजिज ने प्रवचन किए। गुरुवार को प्रात: दस बजे चर्च में प्रार्थना सभा होगी। कदीर ने बांटीं खुशियां-जब पूरा देश धर्मातरण की आग में जल रहा है। ऐसे में क्रिसमस पर भार्गव गली निवासी कदीर खान ने एक मिसाल पेश की। वह प्रभु के जन्म की खुशी में दान-पुण्य का हिस्सा बने। कदीर खान ने बताया कि पिछले वर्ष वह इस कार्यक्रम में आए तो देखा लोग नि:स्वार्थ दान कर रहे हैं। वे भी इसमें शामिल हो गए। द बाइबिल फाउंडेशन के रीजनल डायरेक्टर प्रभु दयाल बताते हैं कि प्रभु की कृपा से ही सभी कार्य पूर्ण होते हैं।

बुधवार को जैसे ही रात के बारह बजे। शहर के सभी गिरजाघरों में घंटा(वेल) बजने लगे। लोग एक दूसरे को यीशु के जन्मदिन की बधाई देने लगे। कोई 'हैप्पी क्रिसमसÓ तो कोई 'मैरी क्रिसमसÓ कहते हुए दिखा। नगर के सभी चर्चो में प्रभु की याद में ईश वंदना, कैरले सांग्स के साथ साथ उपहार भी बांटे गए।

पत्थर गिरजाघर, सेंट जोसेफ चर्च, मेथोडिस्ट चर्च, सेंट पॉल चर्च,म्योराबाद स्थित सेंट पीटर्स चर्च, चौक स्थित 'चौक चर्चÓ की तो बात ही अलग नजर आ रही थी। रंग-बिरंगे झालर,दर्शनीय डेकोरेशन और नवीन परिधानों में प्रभु की पूजा में लीन लोगों का उत्साह देखते ही बन रहा था। सुर्ख लाल जोड़े में सेंटा क्लाज तो हमेशा की भांति बच्चों के आकर्षण का केंद्र बने हुए थे। इनके द्वारा देय उपहार बच्चों के साथ -साथ बड़ों को भी लुभा रहे थे।

प्रेम व शांति से ही खुलता है समृद्धि का द्वार-

'विकास व समृद्धि के लिए आपसी प्रेम व सद्भावना अपरिहार्य है। शांति से ही विकास का रास्ता प्रशस्त होता है। प्रभु यीशु ने जीवन के अंतिम समय तक केवल और केवल परस्पर प्रेम का पाठ पढ़ाया। क्रिसमस के शुभ अवसर पर हमें उनके द्वारा बताए गए राह पर चलने का संकल्प लेना चाहिए।Ó क्रिसमस के पावन दिवस पर यह उद्गार कैथोलिक डायोसिस इलाहाबाद के बिशप राफी मंजिल का है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रभु यीशु ही दैविक अनुकम्पा के सर्वोच्च रूप हैं। इन्होंने गरीबों, पीडि़तों, शोषितों और अन्याय सहने वालों की पीड़ा को महसूस किया। ऊंच-नीच, जाति भेद व लिंग भेद से उत्पन्न सभी प्रकार के अत्याचारों के खिलाफ ईशा ने हमेशा ही आवाज उठाई। आज के दिन हमें उनके नेक विचारों को आत्मसात करने का बीड़ा उठाना चाहिए।

Centre may review Aakash tablet specifications

The first and second versions of the Aakash were shipped by vendor Datawind for Rs 2,276 and Rs 2,263 per unit.
  
The Department of  Electronics and IT (DEITY), which was working on a 4G version of Aakash tablet at price point of around Rs 3,999, has informed a Parliamentary committee that vendors were unable to meet specifications desired under the tender like disc writing, Java efficiency and 3G modems
  
The Aakash-IV tablet project was started by former Telecom and HRD Minister Kapil Sibal in the UPA government with the objective of spreading education digitally.
  
"HRD ministry started this project. The initial mistake that was committed by us was that we fixed the price and asked the manufacturers to supply the product on this fixed price.
  
"If we could have decided the specifications and then asked the manufacturers to supply the product the that could be the better arrangement," DEITY Secretary has told the Standing Committee on Information Technology.

Huawei launches Ascend GX1 phablet in China

Huawei Ascend GX1 sports an 6” 720p IPS display and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The device is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

The dual-SIM device is packed with an 8MP shooter accompanied by an LED flash, while selfie lovers will have to settle for a front-facing 2MP camera.

1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory rounds up the rest of the specifications, powered with a decent 3,500 mAh battery.

Connectivity options on the Ascend GX1 include 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and GPS/ A-GPS. The battery delivers a dual-SIM standby time of up to 198 hours. The Huawei Ascend GX1 measures 161x84.5x9.2mm, and weighs 173 grams.
