Maruti to invest Rs 4,000 crore in FY16 on new models, marketing

The company, which reported its highest ever annual profit and sales in the fiscal concluded March 31, 2015, said the amount would be utilised on enhancing marketing infrastructure, launching new products and on R&D.

Maruti is looking to set up new display centres where its different models are displayed like it does at the brand centre at its headquarter here.
  
In the ongoing fiscal MSI is expected to launch its crossover vehicle SX4 S Cross and premium hatchback code named YRA.
  
Apart from urban markets, the company has also decided to intensify efforts to expand in the rural markets.  "We are at present in 1.25 lakh villages, we would like to add another 25,000 villages this year," Maruti Suzuki India Chairman R C Bhargava told reporters.
   
He said at present demand is strong in the rural markets but how it would be in the year ahead was hard to predict because of unseasonal rain and prediction of low monsoon.
   
Out of the total capex planned for the fiscal, the company on Monday released Rs 845 crore for the upcoming plant at Gujarat.

Trinamool Congress targets BJP in Parliament

A day after BJP President Amit Shah's rally in Kolkata attacking Mamata Banerjee government, Trinamool Congress sought to corner the ruling party in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha by displaying a red diary.

The Trinamool members alleged that the diary was recovered from Roy and claimed that it contained name of a BJP leader.

In the Lok Sabha, Trinamool Congress members rushed to the well shouting slogans. They demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should explain what action CBI has taken after the name allegedly figured in the diary. They later staged a walkout.

TMC leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay had given a notice for suspension of Question Hour to discuss the issue which was rejected by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said rules do not permit any member naming anyone who is not a member of the House. They also cannot display placards, he said.   

To this, the Speaker said the name of the BJP leader would not go on record.

Consumption of beedis higher than cigarettes: JP Nadda

However, the government does not have any plans of changing the tax structure to curb its consumption, he told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.

The World Health Organization's (WHO) "Technical Manual on Tax Administration Act" (2010) has recommended that tobacco excise taxes should account for at least 70 percent of the retail prices for tobacco products.

Nadda said as per the information received from the Finance Ministry, there is no proposal under consideration as of now to introduce a uniform taxation structure on cigarettes which covers all  lengths and does not allow for product substitution of higher taxed cigarette lengths with lower taxed cigarette lengths.

Mikes Broken In Delhi Vidhansabha Too

संसद ही नहीं दिल्ली विधान सभा में भी गुरूवार को जमकर हंगामा हुआ. माइक तोड़े गए और सदन की कार्यवाही बार-बार स्थगित करनी पड़ी.

दिल्ली विधान सभा का सत्र शुरू होते ही भाजपा और कांग्रेस विधायकों ने जमकर हंगामा किया. क़ानून मंत्री सोमनाथ भारती की  खिड़की एक्‍सटेंशन में विदेशी महिलाओं के घर आधी रात को छापा मारने के मामले पर इस्तीफ़े की मांग करते हुए उन्होंने अध्यक्ष का माइक तोड़ डाला.

गुरूवार को चार दिवसीय विधानसभा सत्र का पहला दिन था. भाजपा और कांग्रेस विधायकों के विरोध प्रदर्शनों के कारण अध्यक्ष को सदन चार बार स्थगित करना पड़ा.

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री  अरविंद केजरीवाल ने भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी क़ानून के लिए जनलोकपाल विधेयक और स्वराज विधेयक पर आम सहमति बनाने के लिए यह सत्र बुलाया था.

सदन की कार्यवाही ख़त्म होने के बाद केजरीवाल ने पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए भाजपा और कांग्रेस के बीच इस मुद्दे पर 'मैच फ़िक्सिंग' करने का आरोप लगाया.

उन्होंने कहा, ''हमने गैस की क़ीमतों में हुई अनियमितता को लेकर जो क़दम उठाया, उसके कारण भाजपा और कांग्रेस हमारे ख़िलाफ़ मिल गई हैं.''

माइक तोड़ डाला
कांग्रेस और भाजपा विधायकों ने कानून मंत्री सोमनाथ भारती के इस्तीफे की मांग की.

जब पहली बार सदन की कार्यवाही शुरू हुई तो भाजपा के विधायकों ने अध्यक्ष के आसन के नज़दीक आकर नारे लगाने शुरू कर दिए.

इससे सदन की कार्यवाही थोड़ी देर के लिए स्थगित करनी पड़ी. बाद में जब फिर से कार्यवाही शुरू हुई तो भाजपा और कांग्रेस विधायकों के हंगामा जारी रखने के कारण सदन को दो बार 20-20 मिनट के लिए स्थगित किया गया.

तीसरी बार सदन स्थगित होने के 50 मिनट बाद सदन की कार्यवाही शुरू हुई. दिल्ली कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष अरविंदर सिंह लवली ने भारती के ख़िलाफ़ कार्रवाई की मांग की.

उनके साथ भाजपा के भी कुछ विधायक जुड़ गए. भाजपा विधायकों के हाथ में पोस्टर थें. वे भारती के इस्तीफ़े की मांग कर रहे थे.

इस्तीफ़े की मांग करते हुए भाजपा के कई विधायक आगे बढ़े और अध्यक्ष का माइक तोड़ डाला. काग़ज़ के टुकड़े भी फेंके गए. अराजकता का माहौल बनने से मजबूरी में अध्यक्ष एमएस धीर को विधानसभा की कार्यवाही चौथी बार स्थगित करनी पड़ी.

हंगामे के कारण सदन में जनलोकपाल बिल नहीं रखा जा सका.
