Skill development programs to generate employment for Kashmiri youths

As many as twelve skill development programs are being run by the government for unemployed youths in the state. Around 100 jobless youths have already got enrolled in the program.

District Urban Development Agency Project Officer Zaffar Abbaz said that training to youths is being given by professionals in technical courses like welding, electronics, tailoring, fashion designing and on computer, for a period of six months to one year.

The cost of the training programs is being born by the government itself as no fee is charged from the youths.
The girls have also shown their keen interest to join the programs.

The youths, who had completed six months training, were also given multi-purpose tool kits and a certificate.

They can also set up their own businesses and get financial aid.
